Born in the heart of Scotland, Murphy has been immersed in music since an early age, determined to one day continue his familial lineage of musicians and create music that could hook people’s heartstrings. Amongst other musical projects and endeavours, he has fronted several indie pop bands as lead singer/songwriter before embarking on a successful journey as a solo artist, touring up and down the country, honing and perfecting his craft along the way.

Blessed with a knack for creating catchy and unforgettable melodies, in early 2012 Murphy produced and released his debut E.P. to a sold out venue in Glasgow’s City Centre, and with his reputation and live performances creating quite a stir, he was then nominated for ‘Best Acoustic’ at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMAS), as well as ‘Songwriter of the Year’, ‘Artist of the Year’, and ‘Record of the Year’ at the Scottish New Music Awards.

“One of the best tunes we’ve heard this year”

Rick Fulton – The Daily Record (Soundcheck)

Always searching for ways to utilise his skills and talents, and after furthering his education in the field of Sound Production, Murphy began his entrepreneurial journey – composing soundtracks for TV, Film, and advertising brands, as well as supporting the development of upcoming and aspiring musicians. In 2015, he teamed up with a small team of Film Producers and creatives alike, and together they produced a short film (‘The C Word’) as part of the Edinburgh 48 Hour Film Project. Murphy’s work in film music and sound design were once again recognised, when their film was awarded Best Musical Score and Best Sound Design.

“…a genuine songwriting talent, he has become a truly skilful multi-instrumentalist and accomplished producer.”

Now based by the bonny beach of Edinburgh, his focus lies on continuing his work with Filmmakers and Creative Agencies, supporting the development of young musicians, and following his unscripted journey as a performing artist.
